How to get to Palmerston Park, Dumfries

Car

From all directions you will reach the Dumfries by-pass (A75 Carlisle-Stranraer). Follow signs for Kilmarnock and you will come to a huge roundabout where you turn off the by-pass for Kilmarnock (A76). At this roundabout take the road into Dumfries, keeping Wicks on your left hand side and Homebase and Tesco on your right. About 1/2 a mile along this road you will come to another roundabout (after the mini roundabout at Homebase!). Turn right at this roundabout and then either turn immediately left or carry straight on. Both routes take you to car parks about 200 yards further on. From 2008/2009 there is a charge of £2.00 to park in the Official Club Car Park behind the main stand.

Dumfries station lies on the Glasgow-Kilmarnock-Carlisle line and there is a very infrequent service, but you should be able to get something to get you to the game.
Leave Dumfries Station from the ticket office side and turn right. If you take the first left here you will reach the town centre but you are on your own from there. If you want to go straight to the ground then at the end of the road turn left and continue down this road for about a mile until you reach the river. Cross the bridge and turn right onto the dual carriagewayed road. Take the first left of this road then first right and you will see the ground behind the Ice Bowl.

Buses

From the bus station walk along beside the river to the traffic lights (the ones nearest to you) and cross the bridge. Turn right onto the dual carriagewayed road. Take the first left off this road then first right and you will see the ground behind the Ice Bowl.
