2011/2012 - One Step Back
Gus MacPherson came in quite late, and was asked to put together an almost totally new team as most of the players who's contracts had expired at the end of the previous season were allowed to go, on the whole to teams at either an equal or higher level to us. This proved to be just too tough a task, and Queens experienced the disappointment of relegating for the 1st time in 23 years.
There is optimism however that this could be one step back to take two forward as Queens look to be building quite a strong side for next season, and hopefully an immediate return to the 1st Division.
Davie Rae stepped down as Queens most successful Chairman of all time,
to be replaced by Billy Hewitson at the end of the season, although there
was a late bid by an English consortium to buy Davie's shares, which,
thankfully, he rejected.
Site wise, for the 2nd year running, I cannot recall making any major changes.
