August 2004

Had asked for a transfer at the end of last season, but you could hear the big man cheer for miles around when it was announced that John Connolly was leaving the club! Immediately withdrew the transfer request, and will stay to form the solid defensive partnership with Brian Reid which got us out of the smelly stuff at the beginning of last season.

My Opinion August 2002

The club captain faces a real battle for his place this year, and starts with the disadvantage of having missed most of pre season through injury. The big center half is actually more skillful than he looks, although sometimes not as skillful as he thinks, and he has a tendency to try to do too much when a punt up the pitch would do. I'm sure he'll be back in first team action before long.

My Opinion June 2001

Joins Des McKeown in the returning hero category as he rejoins Queens from newly promoted Arbroath, and another one we always new was a Queen's man at heart. I don't know if he saved it for us, but he always looked good against us, although I remember him being inconsistent during his first spell at Palmerston. I also hope he has sorted out his disciplinary problems, cause I'm sure John Connolly won't have much patience with him if he hasn't. Still, along with the other new signings, our defense is looking good for next season.
